New Research Shows That Strong Social Networks are Key to Turning Around Communities

A series of reports by MDRC, the preeminent social-policy research organization in the United States, shows that social network analysis is an essential way of mapping the relationships among people and organizations working in a given place. The analysis tells us what becomes possible when the resources of several organizations are combined. The LISC has channelled corporate and philanthropic funding into well-organized communities working with businesses, schools, and human-service organizations to hammer out their shared agenda. The resulted in improved access to education, safer streets, busier business districts and more desirable housing and communal areas.
