The Caterpillar Foundation showcased our commitment to natural infrastructure last month at bauma, the international trade fair, in Shanghai, China.
The Foundation featured The Community Builder, an informational activation which showcased the infrastructure challenges in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and in Fengning in Hebei Province, China.
The case studies engaged visitors about the Foundation’s partnerships with local non-profit organizations and the natural infrastructure solutions required to build resilience in each community. Over the course of the multi-day trade fair, the Foundation welcomed more than 525 visitors to the Community Builder where they learned more about the Foundation’s reach and impact through our partnerships.
To further our mission to support the communities where we live and work, the Caterpillar Foundation also announced our commitment to invest up to $10 million over five years in local programs in China focused on: vocational training, STEM education, sustainable infrastructure and disaster preparedness and mitigation.
This investment will help local communities thrive by equipping with them with the skills and resources needed to respond to the challenges they face. Together, with our partners, we are proud to help build stronger, more resilient communities across the world.
